Hey Everyone!! Sorry it has taken so long to finally post... the network is horrible. It is very slow, and it wasn't until Saturday I was even up and working with a modem.
I am settling in fine. It is sooo hot. I just feel like I am always sweating. haha. So is everyone else... but it is still kind of a yucky/annoying feeling. The village is real nice. Kind of quiet despite all the kids. There are 3 houses, each has about 20 kids in it. I live with one of the Nurse Opticians and in our house there is just myself, Mrs.Esaw, her husband-Mr.Moses and our house help Constance.
I offically start my project on July 6th. I will be observing and shadowing all the different areas within the WCV (Westphalian children's Village) project. This should take me about a month or so. Tomorrow is a public holiday so the kids don't have school and we also do not work. Tomorrow I will be washing my clothes, cleaning my room, and catching up on my homework online. I start my Twi tutoring sessions next week with my teacher Mr.Shadrack Sarpong. He is a teacher at the Secondary High School behind my house. He teaches chemistry and biology currently.
Thursday I will go into town to open a bank account. This has been somewhat of an ordeal because I am not a resident nor do I pay any utility bills. So... I needed to get documentation from WCV to prove I am legit and I can have an acct.
Saturday is the market day. Mrs. Esaw and I will go to the market and shop for food for the house. I will also stop at a tailor and get some dresses made. Since the weather is so hot I find that wearing these dresses they wear here are more comfortable and not as hot as my jeans!!!
I will try and upload some pics but the network keeps timing out. I hope to be online more regularly now that I have a modem. I love and miss you all. Medo... especially you.
My phone number has changed.... please contact my mom to get the new number. Also... I check my msu mail almost daily so feel free to send me messages. xoxo
Love, Steph

Definitely post some pictures when you can. I want to see your room and the houses... but more importantly the people. Make Mrs. Esaw and everyone pose for pics so we know what they look like! :)

Glad yur blog is up and running finally. Do you have to pay this tutor or is he doing it to be nice? Will you get MSU credit for it?
